Power plan are combination of hardware and system settings that can help you maximize your computer’s performance or conserve energy. Per user energy consumption can be managed from Balanced, Power saver, or High performance plans. These plans are designed to balance energy conservation with performance, save energy, or maximize system performance. If the designed plans don’t meet your requirements, you can create one for yourself.
To access the “Power Options” window go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Here, double-click on “Power Options” to select your preferred plan or create an own.
For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, to take control on the power schemes, assign permissions to yourself or to everyone in the group. Then, right-click and modify the String value “ActivePowerScheme”, in the right panel, with value of any of the three power plans. The relative values are as below:
