Disable executing a task manually (For Current User).

This setting disables the ability to manually execute a pre-scheduled task.

Tweak for : Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

This setting disables the ability to manually execute a pre-scheduled task. However, tasks will continue to run automatically as scheduled.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys “\Windows\Task Scheduler5.0” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “Execution” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify the value to "1" to enable restriction. However, if you want to get back to the original state and disable restriction, change the value to "0".

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Run' option to execute a task manually is disabled.

'Run' option to execute a task manually is enabled.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\], key and create a new key with the name "Windows" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Task Scheduler5.0" key under "Windows".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "Execution" in "Task Scheduler5.0" key.

Next, right-click on "Execution" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
