Prevent changes to application path of a scheduled item (For Current User).

By using this tweak you can restrict changes to the location details and browsing options in scheduled item’s properties.

Tweak for : Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

The advanced properties section stores the location to run the scheduled task. Normally, you can change the location by browsing the path. By using this tweak you can restrict changes to the existing path. In addition, it removes the Browse button from the advanced properties dialog box.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys “\Windows\Task Scheduler5.0” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “Allow Browse” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify the value to "1" to enable restriction. However, if you want to get back to the original state and disable restriction, change the value to "0".

NOTE:
You can create a new task by pasting or dragging any program into the Scheduled Tasks folder.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\], key and create a new key with the name "Windows" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Task Scheduler5.0" key under "Windows".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "Allow Browse" in "Task Scheduler5.0" key.

Next, right-click on "Allow Browse" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
