Disable hibernate.

This setting can store whatever it has in memory on your hard disk and then shuts down.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

When your computer hibernates, it stores whatever it has in memory on your hard disk and then shuts down. This means, when you turn your computer on, it returns to the earlier state with all the open applications active.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the Binary Value “Heuristics” value to “05,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,3f,42,0f,00” which can disable hibernate function. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to “05,00,00,00,00,01,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,3f,42,0f,00”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Hibernate' option is enabled.

'Hibernate' option is disabled.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Now, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\] and right click on the Binary value 'Heuristics' and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as '05,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,3f,42,0f,00' to enable 'Hibernate' and click 'OK'.
