Disable the shift key during the boot process to skip programs

This setting lets you disable the shift key during the boot up of the system so that the startup programs are not disturbed.

Tweak for : Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000
Windows loads and executes startup programs during booting up of the system. If you press the Shift key during this time, Windows just bypasses those programs. This skipping of startup programs can be avoided through some registry settings.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\CurrentVersion\Winlogon” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value name “IgnoreShiftOveride”, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with “1” to enable the setting.

Click "OK" and close the registry.
After a restart the changes take effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "IgnoreShiftOveride" in "Winlogon" key.

Next, right-click on "IgnoreShiftOveride" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in he text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
