Enable administrator account visible

This setting lets you add it to the Welcome screen and allows you to login like a normal account.

Tweak for : Windows XP

Description:

Administrator account is not displayed due to security reasons in Windows logon window but its activation may be helpful.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value name “Administrator”, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with “1” to enable the setting.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

After logoff or system restart, changes take effect.

Note: This option has no effect, if Windows XP and the Classic Logon Window is being used.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

‘Administrator’ account is visible in ‘Windows Logon’ window.

‘Administrator’ account is disabled by default from ‘Windows Logon’ window.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "Administrator" in "UserList" key.

Next, right-click on "Administrator" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
