Hide the Last User Name

This setting lets you clear the username box on the logon screen.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

This setting prevents the new person from knowing about the last person, who accessed the system.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\CurrentVersion\Policies\System” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a string value name “DontDisplayLastUserName”, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with “1” enable the setting.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

After logoff or system restart, changes take effect.

Last ‘Username’ is not displayed in the box on the logon screen.

Last ‘Username’ is displayed in the box on the logon screen by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policie s\System\],in the open area right-click on "DontDisplayLastUserName" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" without quotation in he text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
