Disable “Task Manager”.

This setting can disable the functioning of “Task Manager” when you press down CTRL+ALT+DELETE key combination.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

Windows displays the “Windows Security” dialog box when CTRL+ALT+DELETE key combination is pressed. Upon pressing the “Task Manager” button Windows launches the relevant window. The “Task Manager” lets you see and administer processes and running applications.

With this setting you can disable the Task Manager to function.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “DisableTaskMgr” in the right panel, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can disable task manager. However, if you want to enable it back, change the value data to “0” or delete the “System” subkey.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Task Manager' is disabled.

'Task Manager' is enabled.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\] , right-click on "Policies" and create a subkey as "System".

Third, create a DWORD value "DisableTaskMgr" under the subkey "System".

Now, right-click on "DisableTaskMgr" and select 'Modify'.

set the 'Value Data' to "1" in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.
