Enable Just-In-Time Debugger (Dr.Watson)

This tweak lets you enable Just-In-Time Debugger (Dr.Watson) to help debuggers solve the fatal errors in programming.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

Just-In-Time debugging is a feature in Visual Studio, which enables the developer to examine the fatal error in the program before the operating system terminates it. It starts automatically as soon as the error occurs. A dialog box enquires about your requirement. It is not necessary to keep it running. It can be enabled from Options dialog box. If the anti-crash program like Norton CrashGuard is installed in your computer, then this tweak displays like this:
C:\Program Files\Norton CrashGuard\CG32EH.EXE /p%ud /e%ud

Windows 2000 displays it as drwtsn32 -p %ld -e %ld -g

Otherwise this field will be blank.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a string value name, “Debugger” in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Right-click this value name and modify the value data with
” C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft hared\VS7Debug\vs7jit.exe -p %ld -e %ld” to enable it and make the field blank to disable it.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

Restart the system or logoff to see the changes taking effect.

Note:
1. Just-In-Time debugging will not work for managed code hosted in a native application, such as Visualizers.

2. The computer will have to be rebooted to let Just-In-Time debugging work on a process running in a limited user account in a Terminal Services session after installing the .NET Framework on Windows Server 2003 or on Windows 2000 SP3 (or later).

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

‘Dr. Watson Debugger’ is disabled and no new log can be created.

‘Dr. Watson Debugger’ is enabled and appears whenever an error occurs in Internet Explorer .

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Now, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug\] and right click on the String value 'Debugger' and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as 'drwtsn32 -p %ld -e %ld -g' and click 'OK'.
